WTC Kochi observed Earth hour by switching off the non-emergency lights from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm. The event was done in association with WWF India. Earth Hour is commemorated yearly to analyze and stress on the impact of energy conservation, reduction of carbon footprint and protection of the environment. This year’s activity recorded 45.5 % of electrical energy savings compared to other days. The electrical consumption during 1 hour of the event dropped to 271 KWH of energy, as compared to an average consumption of 595 KWH. The WTC staff also took a pledge related to Earth hour and planted saplings in the campus.
