The World Trade Center Kochi jointly with FIEO Kerala Chapter organized a seminar titled “IT & IT enabled Service Exports from Kerala – Opportunities and Challenges” at Four Points by Sheraton, Infopark. This session discussed the various opportunities, export incentives, foreign exchange risk management, infrastructural issues etc. related to IT and ITeS sectors. This interactive session was attended by participants from sectors such as IT & ITeS, media, consultants, manufacturing, Finance, education etc. There was also representation from Cochin Special Economic Zone and Customs. Mr. D.V. Swamy IAS, Development Commissioner, CSEZ was the Chief Guest. During his inaugural address, Mr.Swamy said that more handholding support needs to be given to performing companies. Mr. Saju K. Surendran, Dy. Development Commissioner, CSEZ spoke about Creating Infrastructure with quality amenities for achieving better Export Performance. Mr. K.M. Harilal ITS, Joint Director General of Foreign Trade spoke on the Promotional Measures under FTP (2015-2020) for Service Sector Exports. Mr. K. Sreekumar Assistant Manager – Forex Division, Reserve Bank of India, Ernakulam spoke on the Banking Regulations on Exports of Services from India. Mr.Sreenath P. Lead- Talent Engagement, TCS spoke about Social Climate needed for retaining talented workforce including night life. Dr. Bose K. Nair, Vice President, World Trade Center Kochi and Bengaluru and Mr. Unnikrishnan K., Deputy Director General, FIEO and C. Prasanth, Vice President, IDFC Bank also spoke.
