The World Trade Center Kochi conducted a seminar on “Doing Business in the U.S.” in association with the Indo- American Chamber of Commerce. The programme discussed the ways in which a successful business can be set up and scaled in the U.S. The session also discussed the methods for marketing a brand in the U.S. The seminar had attendees from industries like – IT, chemicals, life sciences, consultancies, travel, logistics, coir, manufacturing, hospitality and start-ups. Mr. Vaibhav Manek, Partner and Co-Founder, KNAV Mumbai was the Speaker for the event. Mr. Manek explained how market leaders like Apple, Netflix, Amazon, Uber etc. stays on top by providing customer delight, a uniquely differentiated product, superior customer service/experience etc. He interacted with the participants who are doing business/ looking to start office in the U.S. and urged them to do a detailed study of the market in terms of market size, geography, industry, segment etc. He gave case studies of Indian businesses that have entered the U.S. market and scaled up considerably like Amul, Piramal Enterprises Ltd, Zoho, Hidesign, Himalaya Drug Company, MRF, Godrej, Titan etc. He stressed that a well formulated Business plan is a must have for the business to succeed. Earlier, Mr. Ambarish Saraf, Vice Chairman, IACC delivered the welcome address and Mr. Vivek George, Manager, WTC Kochi introduced the Speaker.
