The World Trade Center Kochi partnered with TIE Kerala to organise a Special Interest Group (SIG) discussion on the recent digital transformation trends happening in the manufacturing industry on 26th July 2018 at PGS Vedanta Hotel, Kaloor, Ernakulam. Mr Aneesh Kammath, Solution Architect - Digital Transformation, Suyati Inc. and Mr  Jayachandran, Director, Advisory Services, Ernst & Young LLP were the speakers. Mr Aneesh spoke about Digitization (conversion of data), Digitalization (the adaptation of a process) and Digital Transformation (creation of a business with Digital technology). He also touched upon the 4 pillars of Digital Transformation namely - Customer acquisition, Business model, Culture and Core operations. He briefed and interacted with the audience on key trends like IoT, Decision Science and its benefits. Mr Jayachandran spoke on the latest megatrends such as the large-scale migration from rural to urban areas and draining of natural resources and its impact on businesses. He also gave examples of how technology can effectively be used to tackle these trends. Wng Cdr Chandrashekhar Executive Director-TiE Kerala made the opening remarks. Mr Neelakantan G. Convener-SIG Manufacturing did the speaker introduction and Mr Vivek George, Deputy Manager-World Trade Center Kochi proposed the vote of thanks. There were participants from various manufacturing companies in and around Kochi. It was a mixed crowd comprising of MNCs to Start-Up Companies and a few students from Engineering and B Schools.
