The World Trade Center Kochi organized a seminar on Data Localization and its Efficacy on 14th November 2018. Mr Praveen Sasidharan, Partner – Risk Advisory, Deloitte India and Mr Sony A., Head – Digital Banking, South Indian Bank Ltd. spoke on the subject. The seminar was conducted at the WTC Kochi seminar hall. Mr Praveen Sasidharan gave a detailed overview of the concept of Data Localization. He further quoted numerous cases on how companies are managing to meet the RBI mandate. Mr Sony A. in his speech explained how the Data Localization measures have affected payment systems and he also threw light on the incidents in India and abroad that led to RBI issuing this mandate on Fintech companies. Mr Vivek George, Deputy Manager, WTC Kochi welcomed the gathering and Mr Sandeep Raj, Coordinator, WTC Kochi gave the vote of thanks. The session had representations from sectors like Banking and finance, Fintech, IT, Healthcare, Logistics, Manufacturing and Real estate.
