WTC Bengaluru, Kochi and Chennai participated in the APAC WTC Regional Meeting of World Trade Centers Association.Representatives from the region attended and discussed the recent developments and changes in trade services, facilities and upcoming expos post pandemic. Mr. Robin van Puyenbroeck, Executive Director of Business Development, WTCA was the keynote speaker at this virtual event. In his speech, Mr. Puyenbroeck spoke about the importance of digitization for WTCs to cater to the increasing trade requirements of members and provided an update on the activities of the Association. Mr. Scott Wang, Vice President, WTCA, Asia Pacific moderated the session.Ms. Crystal Edn, Member Engagement Manager, WTCA spoke about the new digital tools that are offered by WTCA to assist Member Advisory Councils for Agriculture, Business Club, Conferences & Exhibitions, Real estate and trade services. Dr. Bose Nair, Chair, APAC Trade Services MAC; Vice President, WTC Bengaluru; MAC. Dato’ Sri Dr. Irmohizam, Chair, APAC Conferences & Exhibitions MAC; Executive Director, WTC Kuala Lumpur Ms. Rani Dabrai, Vice Chair, AgMAC and Director, World Trade Center Dublin also spoke about the developments in their respective councils. These councils were formed to facilitate growth in trade services, conferences and agriculture. Our President Mr. Vineet Verma provided an update on Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram. Ms. Catherine Lee, Chair, WTCA Foundation and Managing Director- WTC Suzhou spoke about the ‘Peace through Trade Competion’ that aims to identify and nurture entrepreneurs through WTCs in each city. She also explained how the WTCA Foundation helps each member WTC to market themselves, interact with global organizations and effectively contribute to city and community growth. Member WTCs also discussed about the developments, updates, best practices and activities happening in their respective cities. There were also separate group-wise sessions on trend of digitalization, integration of trade services in facility operation, and blended exhibition/convention.
